It's Okay, These Things Happen - Foreword

How easy it is to become angry, dismayed or disappointed when situations don’t turn out as we planned. And how much more empowering it is to remind ourselves and our children that all
the mistakes, spills and accidents don’t define who we are as a person. It is in this spirit, I offer this story of Nathaniel to you. May his message remind you that mistakes are not fatal and
efforts are not futile…and that “it’s okay, these things happen.”

There probably isn’t a day that has gone by in the past few years where I haven’t said “it’s okay, these things happen” to my now eleven-year-old son, Leo…and sometimes, he has even said it to me. To my son, Leo, is dedicated this story for he has been my first and best teacher over these past years that all will be okay and things like these will happen…but through it all, the glorious gift of Life we share goes on.
