Addendum Photo Images of Mt. Rainier/Climbing
o

The summit climb to the very top of Mt. Rainier is not only spectacular on so many levels, but it can also be very precarious and dangerous. The Cowlitz and Ingraham Glaciers are scattered with crevasses throughout the year, while Disappointment Cleaver offers its great challenges of ongoing ice and rock falls. And winds above the Disappointment Cleaver can be so strong as to pull a person right off the ledge they are standing. Because of this, RMI guides are very adamant of moving quickly through various stages of the climb and only allowing time to stop and photograph in particular safer locations.

Below are images acquired from other summiting websites that give a person a greater appreciation as to a typical (if there is such a thing) climb and summit of Mt. Rainier. Special thanks to those anonymous photographers who captured these images - your daring allows me to personally appreciate my climb that much more.

On one of those rare days when "the Mountain is out," Rainier towers over the Seattle area.
