In light of its history, the study of sound and harmonic theory remains in its infant development. And it remains a fascinating topic. Did you know there are theories that support the belief that once spoken, a sound never dies, but resonates outward - similar to ripples in a pond? It parallels the theory that states energy within an entity cannot be destroyed, only altered (energy in a piece of wood is altered when it is set on fire and becomes heat, etc.). Imagine the implications...

A word of hate uttered from millions of mouths over thousands of years... never dying; simply rippling outward to impact another life and another and another...

A word of kindness and hope and grace from millions of mouths over thousands of years... never dying; simply rippling outward to impact another life and another and another...

Now add to that all sounds, positive and negative, sent out across radio waves - and their ultimate impact. It's a staggering thought.

Jeers of prejudice, hymns of praise, shouts of anger, choruses of justice - all emitted outward, bombarding our lives in a battle over our very spirit and soul.

My friend, what sounds occupy your mind and your daily life? Are they messages of defeat and cynicism? Are they thoughts of peace and compassion?

Rippled cords - invisible and visible - intricately connecting us to one another in a myriad of circumstances and journeys. And through it all, we are recipients of endless rippling messages of hope and hate. More importantly, realize that we are each origins of those same endless and rippling messages outward... affecting millions over thousands of years...
